What Are the Requirements to Join a Fleet Installer Network?

We keep the network small. Here is what we ask for when you apply, and what keeps an installer getting leads.

What experience does a fleet GPS installer need?

Two years minimum of hands-on twelve-volt or telematics installation.

This applies to the technician who does the work, not only the business owner. We also ask where you cover, what you install, which vehicle types and which brands.

What do you check before approval?

Insurance, before any lead is sent.

  • A current certificate of general liability insurance, at least $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate, verified before approval.
  • A registered business with an EIN.
  • Your own tools, including a multimeter and a scan tool.
  • A short answer to one question: a tracker shows no ignition signal, what do you check first?

What keeps an installer getting leads?

Answering fast and doing clean work.

  • Accepting or passing within the hour, and calling the customer within the hour of accepting.
  • Clean install documentation.
  • Current insurance and accurate details.
  • Never reselling customer information, and never presenting yourself as API Signal staff.

Does crew size matter?

No. A one-truck operation that answers the phone and does clean work is welcome.

Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance, and approval doesn’t guarantee a set number of leads.

What does it cost to join?

Nothing to join, and your first lead is on us.

After that, $75 per accepted lead for 1 to 10 vehicles and $150 for 11 to 25. Jobs above 25 vehicles are quoted per job. See the full costs.
